December 2024
A number of your 2024-25 McKinney North Lady Bulldogs were honored with prestigious superlative awards following an amazing season that ended with a playoff run all the way to the state finals.
The Texas Girls Coaches Association recognizes outstanding athletes across the state. Three McKinney North players made the TGCA’s 2024 list: junior libero Gabi Rodriguez, junior outside hitter Allyn Brewer, and junior middle blocker Chloe Lewis all made the All-State team. Gabi also made the red All-Star team. Coach Libby Rodriguez was honored by being named assistant coach to the red All-Star team. The All Star game is slated to be played July 16 at Arlington Seguin High School.
GM Sports Media is a sports media company that highlights top talent in the DFW metroplex. In conjunction with 411VB.com, which aims to provide comprehensive coverage of club and high school volleyball in DFW and all of North Texas, GM Sports Media published a list of player superlatives. Junior libero Gabi Rodriguez (937 digs, 108 assists, 36 aces) was named DFW defensive player of the year, notching a state record 43 digs in the state championship match. Junior outside hitter Allyn Brewer (478 kills, 455 digs, 97 aces) was named DFW offensive player of the year. These awards, voted on by 5A volleyball coaches, shows the respect other teams have for what McKinney North accomplished in 2024.
McKinney North also claimed a number of superlatives for the All District 9-5A team, a notable accomplishment in a district that’s also home to powerhouses Lovejoy, Melissa, and Prosper Walnut Grove. Junior libero Gabi Rodriguez, junior outside hitter Allyn Brewer, junior middle blocker Chloe Lewis, and junior middle hitter Kaitlyn Jefferson all made the first team, while senior middle hitter Ayanna Moore and freshman outside hitter Anna Sayman were named to the second team. Junior stter Jordan Kowallis was an honorable mention.

November 2024
The 2024-25 McKinney North Lady Bulldogs turned out to be the most talented high school team in McKinney history. No other team has ever gone as far in the playoffs. The team went on a five-game win stream, beating Lufkin, Highland Park, Killeen Chaparral, Frisco Reedy, and Aledo. The Lady Bulldogs took Corpus Christi Flour Bluff to the fifth set, losing by only a handful, and emerged as the Texas 5A Division 1 runner-up. What a magical, amazing season. Bulldog rumble.

November 2024
As your McKinney North Lady Bulldogs start their UIL playoff run (in the first round, they've already taken out Lufkin in a 3-0 sweep), let's take a moment to celebrate more milestones. This is a team that's always in need of number balloons.
Sophomore setter Malia McNeal (top photo) celebrated 500 career assists. A few weeks before that, junior outside hitter Allyn Brewer got to 500 career digs, while junior setter Jordan Kowallis (both bottom photo) notched her 500th career dig. That's 1500 total plays! And then there's head coach Libby Rodriguez (middle photo) who was honored at midcourt for her 300th win at McKinney North - when this picture was taken her record was 319-260.
Congratulations to our talented, tireless Bulldogs! Best of luck in the playoffs.

Congratulations, Seniors
The McKinney North Lady Bulldogs say goodbye this fall to two graduating seniors. Hitter Madi Trayler (L) plans to pursue a degree in nursing, while hitter Ayanna Moore (R) plans to attend college and study kinesiology. Both were honored at the last McKinney home game with flowers and ginormous gift baskets presented by their volleyball underclassman sisters.
Good luck, Madi and Ayanna! You will be missed.

October 2024
Two more athlete milestones were celebrated recently on the home court of McKinney North.

Junior middle blocker Chloe Lewis and junior middle hitter Kaitlyn Jefferson both earned their 300th career kill and 100th career block. Chloe’s been on the varsity team for two years, Kaitlyn for three. Special notice goes to Chloe: she’s got the highest hitting percentage in the district.
Congratulations to these two hard-working Bulldogs!
